New Purpose Ambition

A new initiative established with one of Scotland’s best loved cheddar brands, bringing people together to overcome food poverty and loneliness.

We worked with Galloway Cheddar to help activate their purpose ambition. Our audience research identified that 1 in 5 people said that “feeling lonely or excluded is one of the most significant challenges in their life right now”, so we knew that the initiative had to have a measurable impact on loneliness and isolation in Scotland.

We launched a pilot initiative called ‘Galloway Mac N’ Cheese Monday’, which was run out of community kitchens and cafes in the largest rural towns in Dumfries and Galloway. The initiative brought people together over a warm, delicious meal, supporting those who are experiencing isolation, loneliness and food poverty. The success of the pilot initiative led us to scale it up for a month-long ‘Galloway Gathering Project’ in partnership with FareShare.

10,000 meals provided throughout May to Scottish communities.
£19,500 donated by Galloway to support FareShare’s work across Scotland.
1.2 tonnes of cheddar supplied to make meals.
